Mykonos, Greece, also known as the island of the wind, the place where I spend my summers for the past 7 years. Being a native New Yorker with a active night life, humbly, I'm proud to say, my standards are high, haha!
In all seriousness though, Mykonos has one of the best house/electronic party scenes in the world. The lineup for this summer season (2022) is incredible. With plenty of options to party from dusk till dawn, Mykonos has it all.
What makes a good party? Is it the dj? The venue? The crowd? The alcohol and party favors? Of course the answer to this is subjective but I believe most would agree that a good party means all of the above are on a good level. Mykonos has the best venues, outdoors, endless sea views, summer breeze, and clean bathrooms! Summer 2022 has the best djs playing; Rufus du Sol, Bedouin, Lee Burridge, Black Coffee, Bora Uzer, Solomon, Guy Gerber and Lemurian to name a few. Getting better every year, the quality of the sound (speakers) is amazing! Now let's talk about the crowd, so far every party I've been to, the dance floor is filled with people dancing and mingling all night! The best part about partying on holiday is that almost everyone there has the same goal. They want to have a good time and are out of their natural habitat.
There are 7 major beaches in Mykonos, 5/7 have some sort of party going on during the day which is like pregaming for the evening. From music genres ranging from house music to hiphop/rap, there is always something happening during the day on the beach. Salt water, sun, sand, music, and great service. Does it get better than that? This island may not cater to everyone but for my fellow partiers and chillers, you've come to the right place, Party Paradise.
It's definitely not a secret that Mykonos has the best party scene, the question is how do you get into these parties? Connections are very important in the party world regardless of where you are. Be it Mykonos, Ibiza, Miami, Los Angeles, or New York City, if you don't have connections, you'll end up at waiting long lines and most probably get turned down at the door.
